In recent years, cases of anonymous accusations against scientists seem to be increasing. At the universities themselves and in the media, these cases are often discussed controversially. At the same time, the system of science is particularly susceptible to anonymous tips, since not only the quality of the research process but also the reputation of the researchers is a criterion for the credibility of research results. Against this background, the current issue of "Beiträge zur Hochschulforschung" examines how actors in universities, scientific associations and the media deal with anonymous accusations.

A series of interesting publications on the topic of power abuse and anonymous publications has been published in a special issue in the journal "Beiträge zur Hochschulforschung".
